Seeking an experienced and community-minded Independent Board Director to help shape the future of rugby across Te Tauihu, encompassing Nelson, Tasman, and Marlborough. The Union provides leadership and governance for all levels of the game, from grassroots clubs and schools through to the nationally recognised Tasman Mako and Farah Palmer Cup programmes.

As an Independent Director, you will contribute strategic insight and objective decision-making to support the Board in delivering its vision for sustainable growth, strong community participation, enhanced high-performance pathways, and increased commercial success. The role includes oversight of organisational strategy, financial sustainability, risk management, governance performance, and stakeholder relationships across the rugby network.

We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Commercial strategy, sponsorship, and revenue generation

• Finance, audit, risk, and compliance

• High-performance sport and athlete development

• Marketing, communications, and digital engagement

• Community, stakeholder, and regional relationship management

Previous board experience is welcomed but not essential. We encourage applications from senior executives, business leaders, governance professionals, and individuals who can bring fresh perspectives and strategic thinking to a high-profile regional sporting organisation.
